I didn’t have my first cup of coffee until I was 30. Before you label me as a crazy person, you have to understand that I am the last person on earth that needs a cup of coffee. I have ADHD - I’m hyper enough as it is. So when I tried coffee for the first time, I knew that I wouldn’t always need it, but every once in a while, it was a nice treat. Cut to late 2020. We’re in full quarantine, nothing is going on, and we’re getting bored. So, I tried coffee a few more times cause I had nothing else to do. One day, I had a cup, got in the car to run an errand, and called about six people.

No one answered.

Here I was, all caffeinated up and wanting to share it with someone, and no one gave a shit.

That’s when MARVIN’S NEVER HAD COFFEE BEFORE was born.

The script was written in less than a week, we shot it over two days in October 2020 with a crew of four people - me, my co-writer Kahlil, our DP Patrick Ouziel, and our incredible lead actor Charles Rogers. In 2021, we screened at SXSW and Palm Springs ShortFest. Maybe I should drink coffee more often!
